General dentistry
We offer treatments like:
Promotion and prevention:
This program aims to reduce the causes that affect patients’ oral health and increase their quality of life.
Professional teeth cleaning is an important relevant procedure to prevent several dental diseases. The procedure lasts 30 to 40 minutes.
It is important to remember that an incorrect procedure can lead to serious oral health issues.
Professional teeth cleaning is recommended for everyone, except for patients with serious gum diseases like chronic periodontitis or pyorrhea. These diseases require a complete periodontal treatment.
There are different promotion and prevention procedures like:
Plaque Control: Plaque is identified using pigments like 2% Erythrosine that show the formation of dental bacterial plaque to quantify it and to use it for educational purposes.
Prophylaxis:Prophylaxis is a dental cleaning procedure using a brush or rubber cup and prophylactic paste. This procedure is used to remove the formation of dental bacterial plaque.
Prophylaxis with prophy mate: This procedure removes the formation of dental bacterial plaque, pigmentation and bacterial products from the tooth surface and gum grooves. This procedure uses air-water and sodium bicarbonate pressure.
Extraction of Supragingival Calculus: This procedure removes dental calculus manually or using ultrasonic equipment.
Applying Dental Sealants: this procedure seals a tooth that has deep grooves and pits with light-curing material. This treatment is used as a corrective procedure for the risk of tooth decay tooth decay because of an absence of oral health education or excess of sugar consumption.
Fluoride Application: this procedure consists on applying fluoride on a tooth surface to reinforce the chemical structure of the tooth enamel and reduce the risk of tooth decay injury.
Bruxism: This is a compulsive action in which people grind, gnash or clench their teeth. When a person clenches, it usually happens unconsciously and at night (sleep bruxism). Sleep bruxism is associated to high levels of stress.
Bruxism
When the person consciously grinds (awake bruxism), it is associated to dental misplacement or to a high dental filling causing excess tooth-to-tooth contact trying to reduce it. The clinical signs of this habit are tooth wear that will eventually result in sensitive teeth, aching jaw muscles, headaches, and neck pain. It can also detect noises in the temporomandibular joint when people open and close their mouths or when they have trouble moving their jaw (trismus).
Bruxism treatment uses a neuromiorelaxing plate (mouth guards). These plates are used generally at night to prevent tooth wear, tooth fractures, muscular pain or tenderness.

Restorative dentistry
This specialization restores teeth’s natural anatomy, function and aesthetics according to remaining oral structures. The most common oral pathology is tooth decay. The treatment consists on removing tooth decay and replacing the lost substance of the tooth with a filling material such as:
Dental Amalgam: This material is a dental filling whose main component is an alloy made of mercury and other metals. It is used to fill cavities caused by tooth decay.
Dental Resin (resin composite fillings): This material is a dental filling made of synthetic particles. Resins resemble the color of natural teeth. It is used to fill cavities caused by tooth decay. This filling has the cosmetic purpose of restoring the natural appearance of a tooth and it is done while removing tooth decay.
Incisal Edge: This resin is used on the front teeth resulting from a trauma or a malocclusion. The durability of this treatment depends on the eating habits, bad habits, biting hard objects and lack of use of a neuromiorelaxing plate (mouth guards).
